Sudden hearing loss: A small pyridoindole molecules has a positive effect oft he auditory functions

As part of a team from Berlin, Vienna and Halle (Saale) Stefan K. Plontke investigated the effect of application of the small pyridoindole moleucle AC102 in guinea pig models. Single interventive applications of AC102 into the middle ear led to restoration of auditory functions almost to prenoise levels and thus, might be highly important for therapy of sudden hearing loss.
