We look back on a successful year 2023. In addition to different awards, newly funded research projects, we have joint publications highlighting new insights within the research field of PoLIfaces.

In January 2024 the ceremonial opening of Bethge-Center for Micro-Characterization (BCMC) took place. BCMC is a DFG-funded Core Facility at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

A nationwide study led by the University Medical Center Halle (Stefan K. Plontke) on sudden hearing loss was published recently in the NEJM Evidence, a specialist journal in this field.

Daniel Wefers and his team characterized the structure of homoexopolysaccharides and have shown a comprehensive structural analysis.

Congratulations to the University of Potsdam! The new CRC1636 “Elementary Process of Light-Driven Reactions at Nanoscale Metals” (speaker: Matias Bargheer and co-speaker: Ilko Bald) is funded.

The Symposium on Biomaterials & Bioresponse on November 23rd and 24th, 2023 taking place in the lecture Hall of Leibniz Institute IPB in Halle/Saale.

DFG extends the funding of two research training groups (RTGs) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) until 2027.
