Landeszentrum für Zell- und Gentherapie (LZG)
State Institute for Cell and Gene Therapy
Vision & aims
This cell and gene therapy institute is formed within the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and University Hospital of Halle to establish a collaborative environment in which innovative cell therapies are developed. The focus is on the development of Car T-cell therapies for solid tumors and tumor metastasis, as well as the combination of CAR T-cell therapies with kinase inhibitors. Furthermore, we aim to develop innovative packaging systems for CAR T-cells for an elongated improved effect. Halle (Saale) is holding an experimental CAR T-cell unit, which includes target identification, target validation, development of novel CAR T-cell constructs, CAR T-cell establishment for in-vitro and in-vivo use and CAR T-cell characterization and monitoring. Furthermore, we have an established GMP-unit including a CliniMacs Prodigy, where we can produce CAR T-cells for clinical use.
