Vision & aims

In view of a growing demand of polymer materials suitable for re-use, our initiative “Evolving Polyesters” intends to expedite new developments by a unique combination of fundamental and applied research. The initiative strives for developing new polyester materials as well as new analytical approaches, opening up new areas of application as well as new recycling or degradation processes, and making better materials or parts from existing polymers, expanding their use, e.g. in the life sciences. We cover the full range from fundamental science, i.e. organic/polymer chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytics and polymer physics to the engineering disciplines and biotechnology.
